China will provide Pakistan with 1 billion Yuan for a space station.
ISLAMABAD: According to sources cited by ARY News on Tuesday, the Chinese government has decided to donate 1 billion yuan to Pakistan for the initiative to build a space facility.
The federal cabinet has accepted a financing arrangement with China for the Pakistan Space Centre project, according to a reliable source who spoke to ARY News. The signing of the agreement received approval from the federal cabinet via a dissemination summary.
China has carried or launched satellites for numerous nations, including Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Luxembourg. China has collaborated on space technology and product development with several nations, including Argentina, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Fawad Chaudhry, a former science and technology minister, declared in 2019 that Pakistan would launch its "first person to space" in 2022.
According to Chaudhry, there is an agreement between Pakistan and China, and because neither nation has a facility for launching satellites, a Chinese facility will be used, as it has in the past.
He claimed that a significant part of the choice of the astronaut would be played by the Pakistani Air Force. In response to a question, the minister stated that the failure of India's maiden space mission, "Shakti," had left debris that even threatened other nations' space endeavors.
The minister had earlier declared on July 25 that Pakistan would select a person to be its first astronaut by 2022. He stated that the selection process for the first Pakistani to be taken to space would start in February 2020.
The minister stated that after the selection process, "Fifty people will be shortlisted," and the list would ultimately be reduced to 25 people. The biggest space event in our history will take place in 2022 when we launch our first person into space, according to Chaudhry.
