Dubai Airshow November 2021 edition, which saw more than USD 74 billion worth of transactions signed at the big event.

The Dubai airshow starts again in November 2023.

The success of the November 2021 edition, which saw more than USD 74 billion worth of transactions signed at the big event, serves as a testament to Dubai Airshow's enormous growth in relevance and impact over the years.

More than 104,000 people attended, and there was a 50% increase in trade visitors, including senior executives from 148 different nations. The 18th edition of the Dubai Airshow is scheduled to take place from November 13–17, 2023, at Dubai World Central (DWC), the venue for the event. It will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and UAE Minister of Defence. The UAE Space Agency, Dubai Airports, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), the UAE Ministry of Defense, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP), and other important aviation sector participants sponsor the event.

The latest edition will highlight sustainability initiatives and technologies from government organizations and the larger aerospace industry, further reinforcing the UAE's unwavering commitment to promoting sustainable circularity ahead of the COP28 summit in Dubai. UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2023 the "Year of Sustainability." Players in the industry are continuing to invest in new initiatives and projects all over the nation. Examples include Dubai Airport implementing innovative efficiency measures to reduce its environmental impact and Emirates operating its first demonstration flight using only sustainable aviation fuel. With Dubai promising to introduce flying taxis in 2026, improvements in electric and hybrid eVTOLs, and the DCAA publishing the first national vertiport laws in history, significant expansion is also anticipated in the aerial transportation sector.

"Dubai remains the epicenter of confidence, innovation, and growth of the global aviation sector, representing our position as a leading global aviation and aerospace hub," said Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Leading aerospace and defense industry players will come together at Dubai Airshow 2023 during The Year of Sustainability in the UAE to forge new paths for sustainable business practices as we all seek to improve connectivity and efficiency.

Industry trailblazers and innovators will assemble at the Dubai Airshow to discover future trends and further chances to continue these efforts. The use of localization through the "Make it in the Emirates" campaign, space technology, and the importance of start-ups in achieving sustainability goals are some other major issues.

Dubai Airshow recently held its first Advisory Board meeting in collaboration with the Defense Services Marketing Council (DSMC), which was attended by senior representatives from the aerospace, space, and defense industries. The meeting's goal was to set the agenda for the Airshow and support the long-term expansion of the international industry. The Advisory Board, which was inaugurated by H.E. Sarah Al Amiri, discussed a variety of subjects, including the priorities of the UAE National 2023 objectives, with an emphasis on the aviation, space, and defense sectors in particular to advance the themes for this year's Airshow.

Space will be highlighted at Dubai Airshow 2023 through initiatives like a dedicated space experience zone, a space delegation program, and an improved 2-day content program. This will play host to its largest Space Pavilion to date, where top organizations will present the most recent space technology and solutions while highlighting their contribution to advancing innovation and sustainability in the space industry.

The Dubai Airshow 2023 will be highlighted by innovations that bring about next-generation features, efficiencies, and decarbonization, ensuring the future of aviation, aerospace, and defense is sustainable. This is in alignment with the UAE's Year of Sustainability and national strategies, as well as global aerospace carbon net zero strategies and COP28 taking place in Dubai. It will highlight how technology is altering the landscape through the use of eVTOLs, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and cyber security. The Dubai Airshow will once again be the ideal setting for bringing the world together for a shared future of prosperity.

The next iteration of the renowned Dubai Airshow will bring together executives from across the sector to spur revolutionary change as the UAE continues to make gains in bringing together international stakeholders from across aerospace, space, and defense.
