China plays an important role in Iran and Saudi Arabic.

China plays an important role in Iran and Saudi Arabic building strong friendly relationships.

Two days after their foreign ministers met in Beijing for the first time in history, a Saudi delegation landed in Tehran on Saturday to discuss reopening the kingdom's embassies there. Following their historic meeting on Thursday in China when they decided to resume diplomatic relations, the visit comes after a month. According to Riyadh's foreign ministry, a diplomatic delegation from Saudi Arabia has arrived in Iran to discuss the reopening of its operations after a seven-year hiatus.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the visit was part of "implementing the tripartite agreement" that the two regional powers, with the mediation of China, agreed on March 10 to repair relations that had been severed in 2016. The two longtime adversaries in the Middle East have suddenly agreed to cooperate

Prince Faisal bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian of Iran made a commitment to bringing security and stability to the unstable Gulf area during their meeting on Thursday in Beijing. According to a joint statement, "the two sides stressed the necessity of following up on the Beijing Agreement's implementation and activation in a way that increases mutual confidence and the domains of cooperation and helps generate security, stability, and prosperity in the region." According to SPA, Mehdi Honardoust, the Iranian foreign ministry's chief of protocol, met with a Saudi "technical mission" on Saturday.

Following the death of a prominent Shia cleric in Riyadh, demonstrators in the Islamic Republic assaulted Saudi diplomatic missions, and the two nations severed ties. The shocking reconciliation between Iran, which has been at odds with Western governments over its nuclear activities, and Saudi Arabia, a predominantly Sunni Muslim nation, the largest oil exporter in the world, has the potential to reshape relations in a region that has been plagued by unrest for decades.

According to the agreement reached last month, the two nations must fulfill security and economic cooperation agreements that were inked more than 20 years ago and reopen their embassies and missions within two months. Moreover, Saudi King Salman has extended an invitation to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to visit Riyadh. The visit is scheduled for after the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which concludes later in April.

The Cairo Center for Strategic Studies' Middle Eastern affairs expert, Rabha Saif Allam, observed "an acceleration" in the normalization of relations. She explained that this entails stepping up discussions "at the economic and security levels" and expressed the opinion that Raisi's planned trip to Riyadh at the end of April will serve as the final nail in the normalization coffin. The United States has been the dominant diplomatic force in the Middle East for many years and has an alliance with Saudi Arabia, albeit one that is periodically strained. Notwithstanding China's involvement, which it views as its biggest global rival, Washington has warily welcomed the reconciliation between the Saudis and US enemy Iran.

Saudi Arabia and Iran compete for sway in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.

Additionally, they sponsor opposing factions in several conflict-ridden areas in the neighborhood, such as Yemen, where Riyadh is in charge of a military alliance that backs the government while Tehran supports Huthi rebels.

An airport source reported that Omani mediators arrived in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, on Saturday to arrange a new ceasefire between Saudi Arabia and the Huthi rebels, who are supported by Iran.
