Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and his cabinet were summoned to Lahore on Friday by the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan (today).

Mahmood Khan, the chief minister of KP, will arrive in Lahore today with his provincial government. The KP CM will meet with the PTI leader along with his cabinet.

Today, Imran Khan will announce the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly will be dissolved.

 

The Assembly of Punjab is dissolved

Another development today was the announcement made by PTI Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry that they had advised Governor Baligh ur Rehman to dissolve the Punjab Assembly. The former minister of information stated that the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved first, followed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly. They were speaking to journalists in Lahore.

 

He stated that the summary for dissolving the provincial legislature had been signed by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and that the suggestion had been given to the governor of Punjab.

If the governor refuses to sign the summary, the order for the dissolution of the assembly would be put into effect within two days, he threatened. The PTI vice president added that a letter finalizing an interim government will be delivered to Hamza Shehbaz of the PML-N in the following two days and that elections would be held within the following ninety days.

 

Resignations of MNAs

In addition, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan gave party members instructions to finalize a plan for resignations from the National Assembly in order to clear the way for general elections (NA).

In an effort to put pressure on the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to allow for general elections, Imran Khan gave the party members instructions to finalize their plans for resignations from the National Assembly. The NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf would be contacted by PTI leaders to receive resignations.
